  • Adrien Broner: The Great Al Bernstein Calls it as he sees it.

As usual, I couldnt agree with Al more. Broner has mediocre power and even worse defense, even if trying to look like Floyd.
The top guys at the 140 and 147 would destroy this loud mouthed baboon.

Broker will be fine, he went up 2 divisions against a style that will always cause him trouble and he still won clearly and comfortably.

Lets see how many of these guys actually fight Broner. He brings good money and he looked bad against Paulie so it would reason guys would be lining up to fight him at 147.

Well, I'm glad he didn't take the "Well he fights for Showtime so I should hype him up" route.

I just can't see how one can gauge another fighter's punching power when his opponent's main objective is to fight backing up while avoiding exchanges and trading punches.

If Broner doesn't have any power then why didn't Paulie just decide to stand and trade toe to toe and fight flat-footed? However, he didn't. He decided to fight a very defensive fight by constantly moving and fighting off the back foot. It's very hard to hit and hurt a moving opponent; Especially a fighter who is as economical with his punches as Adrien Broner is.

The title is kinda misleading. It sounds like Broner is saying Al calls it like he sees it.

Actually, this is a myth. He did not go up 2 divisions, he went up 1 and might not even have gone up that to begin with.

Broner wasn't making 135 anymore, let's be real. He is probably big for 140, when you saw him and Malignaggi stand face to face, you saw the size difference. Broner was the bigger man..

He also didn't fight a style that gave him problems. Why do you think he skipped the 140 division and went straight to Paulie at 147? It was the perfect style and the perfect fighter for him.

A guy that has no power, no chance to hurt you.

So you think Paulie should change his entire style just to accommodate Broner? LOL
