Excuses for wilder's lack of quality competition?

...that he is being "brought up slow" due to lack of an extensive amateur career?...LAME! He was in the Olympics and is being dubbed the best heavyweight to come down the pike in over a decade (so the criticism is warranted) Besides, bringing a fighter up slow is one thing but what team Wilder is doing is offensive. Note: Jameel McCline had no amateur career and started his professional career at 25 years old...and he had no problem facing decent opposition.

it's a step up from what he has been fighting... still not sure what to think of the liakhovich fight. was sergei completely shot or is wilder better then many of us think? Harold sconiers always comes to mind...

Yeah, how convenient to face Malik Scott now that he is coming of his first loss by a TKO.
its actually a step up in class though so as wilder fights go this is the best one yet ... if he blasts scott out in a round then there is seriously something up

It's a sad state of affairs when fighting Malik Scott after 30 fights is considered a step up in competition.

He fought a brick layer for his last fight... so I'd say this is a step up

And he got knocked out in his second pro fight. Wilder is trying at a more successful career than that and in order to accomplish it he's had to come along slow. The time to step into the big leagues will come soon, but this is a decent fight for now.
Good thing you guys aren't managing fighters.

I believe Firtha was golf caddy, not a bricklayer

Seems like a dangerous fight for both of them.

If he bombs Scott out in the first round, bsceners will say Scott took a dive. Especially the Brits who don't like Wilder.
