De La Hoya would have destroyed Margarito, with a late KO! All Margarito has ever had is the heart to not wanna quite, but that will not help with De La Hoya

Oscar ducked the hell out of Margarito in 2008. That obviously has no bearing on prime Oscar vs. Margarito, but old Oscar definitely ducked him, to fight a lightweight.

the animosity between the were real, margarito calling dela hoya a sissy for not fighting him and choosing to face a 135 lbs fighter in pacquiao while dela hoya said cotto would outbox margarito in a classic example of boxer beats brawler.

if the fight were to take place in there primes, it'd would have been one hell of barn burner. dela hoya's come forward style paired up with margarito's relentless aggression would have created electrifying fireworks. if dela hoya doesn't knock out margarito with one of his thunderous left hooks, then margarito might win it via stoppage in the late rounds. i think dela hoya wins this but it's really a 50-50 fight.

            your thoughts?
I would like to say with certainty an honest opinion but Margarito messed that up.

We dont really know Margarito because honestly there is a very good chance that he was using plaster for most if no all his career.

            That said.

Oscar beats Margarito in Vargas like fashion...Late stoppage.

Margarito's only chance is a late stoppage if he uses plaster.

There is no department that Margarito is better in than De la Hoya. I would even go as far to say Oscar had the better chin. Just look at what Shane's old ass did to him. Prime Oscar would have obliterated him. There's good and there's great..... Margarito was good

50/50 fight? Can I have some of what you're smoking?

Prime Margarito? IDK, Oscar beating prime Welterweights at their best? He ain't bout that life, trick.

He lost or looked like balls vs. the best WWs he fought, Tito, Ike, Whitaker.

He either lost or won controversially vs just about everyone you listed.

People here are making De La Hoya out like some kind of unbeatable force that blasted foos left and right, he didn't. Accept it, gentlemen, Oscar-Margarito would be alot closer than yall think.

My response was to people saying he was afraid of margarito, when his resume is stacked. Also the guys he lost to are all better than margarito. Look at the reasons he lost to them or had close fights, do they have anything stylistically in common with margo at all?

Is DLH an "unbeatable force" no of course not, but is he an ATG A level fighter quite a bit more skilled than Margo whose best wins were Cintron and Cotto? yes he is.
