But I also understand the TV conflict. If I was an exec at HBO who had been writing Donaire cheques to fight on my channel and Arum let Donaire fight on my rivals channel, I would be super pissed.

I wouldn't rock the boat with HBO and their wallets to keep the fans happy. but if Arum had matched the 3m offer then it would have been interesting. I wonder how much HBO would have put up for this fight

I'm gutted we are left with Vic the dick 2 though and believe Arum is very happy with that set up, because I don't believe he ever really does all he can to put on the biggest fights, he does what suits him

it was just a publicity stunt by gbp..they didn't care about making the fight. it was all about taking public jabs at top rank and more specifically bob arum. if they cared they would have called todd dubeof and started negotiations from there, but instead they started making all these public statements about 3million dollars and sending out contracts (only people to get the contracts were the media..fancy that!)....
