According Shelestuk, in preparation for the first 8-round bout in his career, he sparred with strong sparring partners, including the well-known American Prospect Glen Tapiya (21-1, 13 KOs) and top-end South African welterweight Chris van Heerden (21-11, 11 KO).

Taras also noted that the current negotiations on the broadcast his fights in Ukraine, and it is likely that soon Ukrainian boxing fans will be able to see the fights Shelestuk on TV.

In addition, the Ukrainian confirmed that his younger brother - a bronze medalist at the European Championships 2013 Bogdan Shelestuk - is also planning to go to the professionals.
