Battle tested means he passed. Porter (I assume) and Maidana both came out battle tested, but Broner came up short.

Sure, clearly Broner lost in both cases, but any real boxing fan could acknowledge that Broner in almost any scenario before these losses was a slacker. A bona-fide slacker. But he still went 12 with Maidana and Porter. He went 12 with strong 147 hitters and even had them hurt at times. Anybody saying that Broner doesn't have the goods to go the championship rounds is straight trolling. Good things to come from Broner as time goes on...
