Looking at some statistics since the Premiership started, and I am amazed at really how good a player Cesc Fabregas is (statistically).
The results are absolutely mind-blowing. I was literally dumbfounded when I checked the stats.
So, these are the statistics for the most assists ever in the Premiership.
1. Ryan Giggs – 90
2. Frank Lampard – 81
3. Steven Gerrard – 71
4. Thierry Henry – 67
5. Francesc Fabregas – 66
These stats probably don’t really give away the full story. Let me give you the exact same stats with the amount of appearances in brackets.
1. Ryan Giggs – 90 (588)
2. Frank Lampard – 81 (476)
3. Steven Gerrard – 71 (366)
4. Thierry Henry – 67 (254)
5. Francesc Fabregas – 66 (187)
Our captain, Cesc Fabregas has played almost 200 games less than Steven Gerrard, and he’s 5 assists behind! Ridiculous!
Ok, if you’re still not impressed, below is a list of all the players, again, but this time with the number of games per assist.
1. Ryan Giggs – 6.53 games per assist
2. Frank Lampard – 5.87 games per assist
3. Steven Gerrard – 5.15 games per assist
4. Thierry Henry – 3.79 games per assist
5. Cesc Fabregas – 2.83 games per assist
Giggs stats look very average when you consider he has played 588 games and has only got 90 assists, Cesc gazumps him P4P, he has 66 (187)
