Vests with no jacket is a no no for a gentleman (people also tend to think vest and no jacket = gay dude).... Personally, I think that look is too "try hard" with the whole vest, jeans, unruly tie and popped collar. It's kind of "in" right now I suppose, but a nice casual blazer/sports coat does wonders. Sometimes less is more. No offense, it doesnt look awful or anything...just bleh for my taste.
