Very bad job, he should have been banned from refereeing for that but it was clear he was paid off to make things as difficult as possible for Khan, including deducting points for a move that other referees tell fighters to do during fights in order to avoid clinches and maintain the momentum of the fight.. Cooper is a joke of a referee.

Well they were fighting in DC whilst Pederson was juiced up so? It's Amir Khan "Doe" so who cares right?

I've always seen the ref hold onto the fighter that's about to be stopped, and hug onto them.

You expect Smoger to have ninja like reflexes and hold onto Tapi, and at the same time, block Kirkland's punches?

The fault is squarely on the corner. If you want to keep it really real, Tapia was too tough for his own good. He was throwing enough shot backs for the ref to not stop the fight.

That DC rob job was one of the worst I've ever seen.

                entirely different situations.

smoger tells fighters to push off when they are wrapped up in a clinch, its just another way of telling them he wont break them up and they will have to do it on their own. like "punch your way out".

when khan got points taken off the circumstances where completely different. pushing someone because he is hitting you with legal punches isnt the same as pushing someone off because they are holding.

khan wasnt pushing peterson because he was clinching and khan was trying to work, peterson was the one trying to work and khan pushed him away since he wasnt capable of defending himself legally.

All ref's are different, ref warned khan and khan kept doing it

Khan felt the PED punches and had to push

hge's urging them to keep their hands free. pushing in boxing is illegal. the command is confusing, but he's not actually asking them to push each other.
