Just saw the thread about top welterweight bouts now I wanna know, who do you all think are the top 5 Welterweights in the past 40 years of boxing?

Chavez didn't really do anything of note at WW. Basically all of his notable wins were from 130 through 140.

I can't really narrow it down to 5, partially because I'm lazy, but Jose Napoles, Ray Leonard, Carlos Palomino, Thomas Hearns, Oscar De La Hoya, Felix Trinidad, Donald Curry, and Pernell Whitaker would all be considered (Napoles and Leonard being locks rather than just "considerations). Some fighters would be ranked higher H2H than for achievements (Trinidad had a much longer reign than Duran and Hearns but I wouldn't pick him over either of those at WW).

Yeah Curry is a good choice. I had to show some love to Cotto though his WW run is underrated.
