  • Comments Thread For: Former British Featherweight Richard Evatt Dead at 38

Richard Evatt, a former British boxer who largely fought at featherweight and junior lightweight, has died at 38 after collapsing Monday inside a homeless shelter, according to the Coventry Telegraph.

Police have arrested a 32-year-old man “on suspicion of murdering” Evatt, the report said.

Evatt fought as a pro from 1995 to 2002, a career that included a 1999 fight with Junior Jones in which Evatt was ahead on the scorecards before being stopped in the 11th round, according to BoxRec.com.
