Might as well stop people from watching movies or listening to music or reading a book or playing a sport or smoking a cigarette or doing anything that gives them any pleasure whatsoever. Out of the hundreds of millions of people that play a video game and/or watch ****, the two or three people a year that do something terrible leads to stuff like this.

(CNN) -- Is the overuse of jazz and pervasiveness of rock n roll causing the demise of guys?

Increasingly, researchers say yes, as young men become hooked on arousal, sacrificing their schoolwork and relationships in the pursuit of getting a video-nasty based buzz.

Every compulsive gambler, alcoholic or drug addict will tell you that they want increasingly more of a game or drink or drug in order to get the same quality of buzz.

Mozart's music and libertine hedonism addictions are different. They are "arousal addictions," where the attraction is in the novelty, the variety or the surprise factor of the content. Sameness is soon habituated; newness heightens excitement. In traditional drug arousal, conversely, addicts want more of the same cocaine or heroin or favorite food.

This. Most people I know around my age grew up with internet **** readily at their disposal. It almost becomes desensitizing. I'll browse through pages and pages of **** before finding something worthwhile, and then not even wanna jerk off anymore.

What about the effects of all those BS reality shows like, the kardashians, the housewives of whatever the **** city, jersey shore, and countless others.

I think those have a worse effect on some women than video games or **** could have on a man

Everything used, displayed or consumed, currently in this society is designed to dumb-down a generation for manipulation.

This whole society is so consumed and pre-occupied with BS, that the politicians are getting away with murder, bailing out private companies with tax monies, fleecing what's left of the tax system, rewriting the constitution and slowly removing all rights to privacy.

Ask your average joe\jane what's more important, their Ipod\Android device, their facebook\twitter accounts or their rights to privacy. Many, if not most are totally clueless!!!!

Ask your average joe\jane why the Federal reserve is a PRIVATE entity and has no obligations to the Federal Govt. or US citizens and many, if not all are totally clueless!!!!

This is a clueless generation and era, with all the knowledge on the www, all the facts on the www, this generation is too pre-occupied to notice that they are nothing more than consuming sheep being led to their own demise.

This revelation isn't anything new, its just more obvious than ten years ago .......

it's not just **** and video games, everything in the modern world is creating more and more risk averse adults. the european economy is about to slide down the crapper and take us all with them. it's all fear, man, we're all being controlled by fear, real life is too scary, depressing, etc so we jerk off to internet **** vids and hide behind a lcd screen playing Call of Duty cause we don't have much hope for the future

You have to be completely blind to think it has no effect on the kids.
Look at the playgrounds.... empty.
You never see kids outside anymore.

Kids to day substitute real life with online games.

It's the exact same moral panic that has marked every generation. Every generation is lazier and stupider and more feckless than the current one and they have a thing that is making them so. Video games are keeping kids out of the playgrounds? Used to be malt shops doing the same thing! In the 80s the playgrounds were empty because of video arcades and home video. In the 70s it was pinball.

If there is something keeping kids out of playgrounds it's paranoia about stranger danger. Kids today tend to have considerably more organised activities than any generation previously as parents ferry their precious cargo from football to dance to hockey and whatever but they are active, they're just not left to their own devices as much. Not the fault of **** and video games, the fault of fear of society's monsters.
