  • Comments Thread For: Jorge Linares Asks De La Hoya For Brandon Rios Shot

Former WBA super featherweight champion Jorge Linares (31-1, 20KOs) has asked his promoter, Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya, to get him a shot at the WBA's lightweight king, Brandon Rios (28-0-1, 21KOs). Linares is slated to return on August 6 in Venezuela and won his last four bouts since being stopped by Juan Carlos Salgado in one round in 2009. Rios retained his title last Saturday in California with a third round technical knockout of top rated Urbano Antillon.

Rios destroys him. Ever since his first round knockout his chin was exposed. Rios destroys him quick...latest 3rd round...

He has the style and physical gifts to beat Rios. Tall lanky fighter, good power, technically solid. To bad his chin wouldn't hold out. Rios by TKO

He got hit on the temple. This is still a very dangerous fight for either guy, Linares didn't look good at all in his last fight but personally...I think it's because it's hard to get up against an opponent who isn't quality. Linares can most defenitely win this. I see Jorge winning the early rounds, but Linares does have questionale stamina, it'll come down to conditioning in my opinion.

Rios gets hit way to much. Linares by knockout. Wasn't Anitllion rated 12?

This has 'great fight' written all over it. I also have Linares ahead in the early rounds but Rios stopping him late. Make it happen!!!

                  Nice . . . . but alittle to late.

Rios should be moving up soon . . .
