The reason Seattle's defense is so great is down to copying Rugby techniques (video).

Unfortunately in the NFL they flag pretty much any hard hit these days so even when they do hit perfectly executed with their helmet to their side and lead with the shoulder, if its violent often times it gets flagged. That this perfect hit by Bam Bam to break up a completion:

And here is Bam Bam executing the same hit, this time it wasn't flagged so it just shows the inconsistency of the NFL and what they call penalties on

Over the last few years the NFL has made a lot of rule changes that heavily favor the offense, which is why we see all these QBs throw for insane amount of passing yards every year. This makes what Seattle does even more impressive because the game is so unbalanced in favor of offenses it's a joke.

So are football players. Some just choose not to use it, and it has been accepted by ****ty coaching.

Haha sure they do pal. They are a physical yet a fast defense. It's hilarious that people complain that the NFL is becoming such a p ussy league by constancy making everything a penalty, making it nearly impossible for defenses, but when ot comes to Seattle its "oh they cheat because they are too physical!" Lmao! The hate runs strong
Don't be mad Seattle knows how to play great defense while most other teams dont
The emphasis on theholding rule this year was made specifically for them. Everyone in the NFL knows they get away with more then anyone else. It's no secret.

Both tackles look OK to me...

It's interesting Seattle are taught to tackle around the waist most rugby players are too, but actually the absolute most effective tackle in rugby to bring a man down is to take the player around the ankles.

The smallest guys can bring the biggest monsters down simply by tying up his legs beneath the knee.

Are US Football players allowed to offload in the tackle?
Start at the waist and slide down to the knees. That's how to execute a rugby tackle.

In the first one he leads with his forearm across the throat. The second was the shoulder.

Yes they are, but the only time I have ever seen a team set up to do it was on the final play of a game.

So you're saying they "get away with it" because it's a huge conspiracy? Why would they, out of all teams, be treated differently and be allowed to break the rules while other teams aren't? And yet the NFL is changing rules specifically for them? Sounds like you didn't think this theory through...

And whats funny is Seattle has hardly been called for any defensive holding and PI's both in the pre-season and this year so far. Face it, the defense is simply loaded with talent especially in the secondary. Earl Thomas, Kam and Sherman are extremely good at what they do. Only weak link right now is CB Maxwell, who was a third string guy last year and is only starting because Browner and Thurmond are gone. But once rookie 6'3 Tharold Simon is healthy no doubt he's going to be the starter.

It's obvious the Seahawks defense is amongst the best in the league and it's not because of "getting away with defensive holding " . Did they destroy the record breaking Denver offense in the Superbowl 43-8 because of defensive holding and PI's? Lmao get real son

Never said they weren't good. But they get away with a lot. The only ones who say otherwise are the fanboys.

nah, first hit is legit as well. It just happens so fast and is so violent that's why he was flagged. Here is a picture of that first hit, shoulder into chest:

                    Picture perfect hit.

                    Slow it down:

Head turned, shoulder hit. Perfect. Of course, the NFL is becoming giant ******* and we all know it. Everyone throwing for 4-5 thousand yards now because you're not allowed to hit.

Any team with a good defense, there is going to be some minimal defensive holding. Just like on any given play there's going to be offensive holding. To complain to the point to say Seattle is getting away it it is ridiculous. People mistake physical defense with penalties. Seattle jams the WR's often within five yards (legal) and people think it's holding or a penalty.

                      Perfect examples:

And of course, just natural talent

This is just good defense, plain & simple.
