Shaq was the 1st option for their first 3 titles, Kobe proved this by trying to take over in '04 and shooting them out of the finals, he proved he wasn't the MVP of the team.
Kobe has always been an overrated chucker and has played on some STACKED teams like his past 2 title teams.
-Gasol (1st or 2nd best PF in the NBA)
-Bynum (2nd best defensive C in the NBA as well as the 2nd best C in the NBA behind Howard)
-Artest (Best perimeter defender in the NBA, this dude single-handedly shut down guys like Durant)
-Odom, 6th man of the year, a match up nightmare, he could also create his own shot just like Gasol and Bynum.
Bryant takes like 30 shots to score 40 points and Laker fans claim him the greatest, or even shoots 6-24 in game 7 of the Finals and gets named Finals MVP.
He's also an overrated defender, dude plays defense like 4 mins a night and gets named to all defensive teams lmfao.
It all has to do with him being in L.A, if Duncan played in a big market like Kobe he'd be considered a god in the media.
Duncan's true competition of the 00's is Shaq.
All you had to do for Duncan was surround him with shooters, that's what the whole Spurs' offense was based on.
Finely, Horry, Barry, Kerr, Ferry, Bowen, etc. most of these guys were done as NBA players but since they played with Duncan he made them all better.
Give the ball to TD, let him draw a double/triple, let him score or pass to a wide open shooter. That was the whole Spurs' offense right there. If you put a 7 footer next to him like Rasho, Mohammad, Oberto, Elson, Massenburg, Willis, etc.! the guy locked the paint down with him and made it extremely difficult for EVERYONE on the floor to score.
Parker didn't hit his prime until '07, Ginobili until '05 and this guy has been injured almost every season.
