So it was sexual harassment, whether this little shit knows what it means or not. That's what I mean about headlines. Everybody is oh so angry about this oor six year old boy but if you were the parent of the girl he was harassing you would be furious and demand something be done.

Something absolutely should be done to teach a little boy the difference between right and wrong, but to register him as a sex offender is rediculous.

I found the "he doesn't even know what sexual harassment means" argument to be especially specious. He doesn't have to! If he stabbed some kid he wouldn't have to know what "stabbing" meant to have done it!

It was unwanted affection and physical contact. Nothing about it was sexual. If he had no knowledge of sex and no intention of anything sexual, I'd say it's an extremely valid argument.

Look at your definition again:

"Of, relating to, involving, or characteristic of sex, sexuality, the sexes, or the sex organs and their functions."

He was harassing her in that manner because she is a girl. He was harassing her because of her sex, therefore it was sexual harassment. He may not have specific knowledge of actual sexual activity but he certainly has an awareness of sex as it pertains to sex differences between boys and girls.

Now this area is one in which we should expect experimentation and must deal with it with some sensitivity but this is a case where there have been prior suspensions for the exact same thing so there's something going on with this kid and his victim deserves to be protected.
