They want that name on the WV2 resume. Rafael is an older fighter with a big reputation and WV2 has a splinter under his skin. Arce put it there and WV2 better hope the young version of Rafael doesn't show up, because he'll put a stake through his heart.

TR has a small 118-126 roster, not many options for Vasquez Jr.

Arce, Concepcion, Donaire, Garcia, Fleming, Juanma, Montiel, Marroquin, Magdaleno, Rigondeaux, Saenz.

Arce/Donaire/Garcia/Marroquin/Rigo have fights lined up, Montiel just fought in June, Juanma is on suspension, Concepcion is a bum, and all the other guys are young/unknown prospects.

Vasquez doesn't have much of a choice but to fight a faded/arguably shot Marquez.
