and Edward Hopper is also a great artist.

really nice stuff. i love the color in the first one you posted.


is the last one also an edward hopper? it looks like it, but i'm just not all that familiar with his works outside of nighthawks.

john william waterhouse. i love how he paints women.

i don't need to say anything about this picture, other than to say it describes muh life:



"hylas and the nymphs," AKA a typical morning for new england.

"come back to bed and satisfy us again, dear."

What the fuck, are you serious? I was going to post Waterhouse and I was going to post Hylas and the Nymphs. That's one of my favourite paintings and I used to go see it all the time hanging in the Manchester gallery before I moved.

Also there was Ophelia by Arthur Hughes.



I like that one as well. The pre-Raphaelites got shit done.

Speaking of Pre-Raphaelites, I went to the exhibition at the Tate a couple of years ago (you'd have liked it Piggy), and saw this one by Henry Wallis which really got me.



Another favourite of mine I saw at MOMA was by Andrew Wyeth. (Oh by the way you wouldn't believe how small The Persistence of Memory is)

It's about four feet by eight feet. Hard to conceal.

There are a lot of Waterhouse paintings there.
