it's interesting how different the USSR might have been had he lived a little longer. lenin's "new economic policy" before his death was wildly successful. and he was already aware at the time what a massive **** stalin was.

people often attribute the millions of lives lost during the civil war to lenin but that's neither fair nor realistic. lenin was a product of a very different environment compared to the absolute lunatics on that list.

Same can be said for Stalin in some instances, if you try to defend him hard enough. Lenin's communist party did cause the death of millions, I don't know if it's as high as the 16+million as some claim but he was just another virus for the people.

Men in suits with their "ideas" playing with lives as if they're meaningless.

What the MIT researchers did find, however, was that conservatives give more to religious organizations, such as their own churches.

And what do these churches do with the money they receive?

“The Mormon Church, for example, spends roughly .7% of its annual income on charity. Their study of 271 congregations found an average of 71% of revenues going to ‘operating expenses’…Compare this to the American Red Cross, which uses 92.1% of revenues for physical assistance and just 7.9% on operating expenses. The authors also note that Wal-Mart, for instance, gives about $1.75 billion in food aid to charities each year, or twenty-eight times all of the money allotted for charity by the United Methodist Church and almost double what the LDS Church has given in the last twenty-five years.”

And this isn't even taking into account the Mega Churches that make BILLIONS a year from donations and give as a little as 10% to actual charities.

All that article states is that religious people give more to religious institutions. They donate money to "spread the word of God"
