Really? Who actually believes this ****? It's hilarious that squealpiggy is the first to backup the claim, now I know it's probably wrong.

I guess commitment is what you feel toward you mother and other family members and friends. Commitment comes as a result of love, anybody that tells you other wise, tell them to go **** themselves.

What makes you say this Squeal? Generally, I agree with most of what you say. Admittedly, it's a long time since my undergraduate days when I briefly studied emotion so I could be wrong, but on this occassion, I don't feel the evidence supports your view.

Emotions have been designed through evolution to maximise reproduction. Isn't love the FEELING (i.e. emotion) that was selected for in order to facilitate commitment? Commitment, facilated by the feeling of love, has potential fitness benefits e.g. provision of resources from both the mother and the father = greater chance off off-spring survival etc etc etc ...

        Love is a feeling.

to be in love is the greed of wanting a commitment.

love and to be in love are 2 completely different things.

          ehhh......

          love is a feeling.

i've loved chicks i was no longer with and never loved girls i was with.

commitment has nothing to do with love.

if love is a commitment , what is hate? non-commitment?

Good point. Hatred imo takes more commitment than love. You ever seen someone really hate another person? They become obsessed and commit themselves to making that person look bad.

Love is just a word for liking someone a lot.
