So the new ECW came to an old ECW venue tonight - it didn't sell out but the fans were rabid, chanting "same old ****" and "change the channel"

ECW Fans rule. It's a shame Vince is taking a **** on them...

I watched ECW last night. It was the first time I've had access to cable since the new ECW show came on. It was like ECW-lite. It didn't really hold my interest much. The nod to old ECW was Edge putting Tommy Dreamer in the barbed wire but otherwise not much was there.

I was against this whole idea about a new ECW from the start. I knew Vince was going to do this. The WWE roster was getting too big, and theres no way he was going to give up his wrestlers so they could go to TNA, so he made another federation. Hes using ECW.

The last four ECW main events have been Big Show vs Ric Flair, Show vs Undertaker, Show vs Kane and Show vs Batista. I'm no huge ECW fan, but you have to at least give its wrestlers a chance to get over. I'm guessing Vince/Heyman forsaw the crowd reaction last night and thats why the Sabu angle was introduced.

I think we are going to see Sabu/Show at Summerslam

Vince owns it so unfortunately he can do as he pleases with it but it would have been nice if he could have made it more independent, at least on the surface, and kept the ties with WWE behind the scenes. The way it is now it's just an a third show to go with Smackdown and Raw.
