He's not going to achieve that by fighting 2 or 3 times a year, like most fighters in his position do.

It's a good thing that you set goals for yourself but c'mon now.....Chavez was one of the best if not the best Mexico has ever produced, his record speaks for itself and this was in the days when the boxing organizations had it ( more or less ) under control in regards to the number one ranked fighter would fight for the title no matter who the promoter was. Chavez never ducked anyone and always fought his heart out, his record is in my opinion untouchable...good luck Canelo but i dought it very much !!

Im a Canelo fan no doubt but I thought his comments were pretty dumb. You can go 100-0 and you still wouldn't be greater than Chavez, that's just how it is in the eyes of Mexican fans. Also showing the slightest disrespect towards Chavez Sr is the quickest way to make Mexican fans not like you. Im also a little surprised at how lightly Chavez Sr took Canelo's comments.
