  • Weight Loss and Thinning of my hair.

Hi everyone. I have been looking for the proper avenue to see whether someone has the same experience as mine.

I have been struggling with my weight and have tried to lose the excess in all possible ways. I engaged in crash diet and somehow lose some lbs but I noticed a lot of falling hair strands that made my hair a lot thinner than before.

Have you got the same experience as mine? Is it because of the unsupervised diet or my hormonal imbalance?

    Weight Loss and Thinning

Hi, I also get stressed out especially when it comes to my weight. Anyway, I think, yes it maybe due to stress or some hormonal imbalance. I have read that stress is one of the factors that can cause hair loss. Is it a severe case already? then if so, I advise that you get an opinion of a hair doctor already.

Thanks for your thoughts. I have not actually consulted a specialist because I think getting medical hair treatment will be my last option. I am into the natural remedy and have been using lavender oil and coconut oil.

saw palmetto in the liquid form. it kills off the scalp yeast which leads to hairloss. take orally and also break a few tablets into your shampoo bottle. you can also make a tincture with olive oil and rub into your scalp for a few hours. it stinks horribly but really worked for me. recent studies say beta sitosterol combined with saw palmetto is very effective

The only downside is a slight loss in libido.

I'm assuming that your name is Shelia and you're female. If so I've know woman who have had hair loss when they lose to much weight and it's usually caused by hormones. It happens to women who become anorexic and it's a sign that something is very wrong. If indeed you are a woman I suggest you have a serious look at your diet because your needs are not being met and your health is suffering. You should consult a nutritionist.

Thanks for all your responses. I am scheduled to see a GP last week but for some reason, I had to postpone it. Yes, I know that health should be a priority.

Anyway, I have read a lot about hormones as well and this could be a reason too but I have to hear the doctor too just to be certain. I was close to be persuaded to get Bosley because of its review. I am just afraid that this is not fit for me.

Health should be your FIRST priority. Make another appointment and get through with it, it's important to know the real reason of your hair loss as early as possible so you can find the right treatment for it.
