He doesn't just beat his competition, he generally dominates them with KO wins or shutouts. His only real tricky opponent was JMM but he does hold 2 wins over him. Barrera and Morales are both legends and he didn't just beat them, he KOed both. He truely uses his southpaw advantage to his advantage with his extra additions to his arsenal.
    Other than the bold bit, I have no problem with that breakdown.

You can take in to account their upside, or what they've accomplished. Here are the selections that I think are the cream of the crop, more or less.

        Joel Casamayor: The Ring Lightweight Champion, 36-3-1 (22)

        Next Opponent: Juan Diaz

        So, vote. Discuss.

        NOTE: I may have left out SOME southpaws. You can come up with different ideas. Still, the list is fairly complete.
        Nice job but still contributing for the wave of Polls intended for Calzaghe to win, as if the number of polls won would play any roll on how he would be remembered. !Remember! when the dust settles and people start thinking again, things which now seem irrelevant as how old were Calzaghe's opponents when he fought them (think both Eubanks and Bernard Hopkins in the end of their careers and the rest of them unknown people outside europe) will become relevant.

        BTW Here's some new ideas for new polls:

        Best British fighter to recently win a split decision over a 43 year old upon being knocked down in the first (i don't know why Calzaghe's fans cry fighter bashing when people say this, this WAS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED);

        Best fighter from whales (safe to say, i give him that);

        Best fighter in the division with NO KNOCKOUT POWER;

        Help me here. More suggestions!

              Pacquiao is higher on the pound for pound list for me so my vote goes to him.

                I actually think it's Casamayor or Manny Pacman. But, OKay.

                  Wright because Pacquiao and Calzaghe (especially Calzaghe) don't really rely on their southpaw stance. Wright's southpaw jab is the best jab in the whole game right now.

                      Why Pacquiao is favored? Is it because of his staright left?
