  • Comments Thread For: Lemieux Interested in Canelo Fight - But NO Catch-Weight

Former IBF middleweight champion David Lemieux (35-3-0, 32 KOs) is still interested in a fight with Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (47-1-1, 33 KOs) - as long as there is no catch-weight involved.

Canelo would only do 155 to save face even if the weight is killing him.

It's actually a good fight to be made but it will reflect very poorly on Canelo if he goes for it after everything that has happened.

How was is this a good fight he was piss poor against GGG so he beat a chinny Tapia, he got to find sombody who is world class before given a chance and not just with the same promoters

Because Canelo isn't Golovkin and Lemieux is a huge puncher and bigger than Canelo. It'll be a hell of a fight and could go either way, Canelo hasn't been in the ring with anyone at Lemieux's power or size.

Tapia was a -1800 underdog. Which I like having a 3-5% chance of winning.

He barely makes 160 and struggles even at that.

Yeah HBO isn't buying fights right now so it would have to be on PPV.Probably do between 150k-300k max. And would have to have a great undercard.
