  • So this was in July 2014. And it took Ward more than a year to call GG's bluff. What a sissy. So what was Ward doing all those times? What is even laughable was Ward purportedly made an offer recently by email when he knew the Lemieux fight was already being promoted. Who does that stupid ****, making an offer when the opponent is already fighting another fighter? What if he loses? What a joke.

LOL that's common between promoters setting up big fights. For example they are now building Ward vs Kov on HBO so they can marinate it and if they win their next fights then they'll fight.

Canelo vs Cotto was also set up this way before Cotto fought Geale and before Canelo fought Kirkland.

If Loeffler would have sent a counter offer then we could have taken team GGG seriously, but he never did, and so that means he never wanted the Ward fight.

      • You didn't answer the question. What was Ward doing all those times when GG was available?

Doesn't mean they "never" wanted the fight. Just means they didn't want to negotiate a fight at that time. They had the Lemieux PPV signed and the Cotto/Canelo winner on deck. They've been working on this plan for nearly 2 years, why on earth would GGG screw that up by committing to a Ward fight? What has Ward done in that 2 years to build up the fight? If you were GGG and you thought by mid 2016 you'd have a lot more bargaining power after beating Canelo for the WBC and lineal MW championship, why would you lock yourself into a contract with Ward so prematurely? Especially one that gives Ward a 50/50 split and a 10+lb weight advantage? The problem is that in Ward's mind he's already done the work by winning a tournament 4 years ago. He thinks GGG should've come to him. He had plenty of time to counter the down the middle proposal thrown out by K2, but he waited too long. GGG's got other plans.

As for GGG at 168, sure he'd fight Froch for the $$$ and exposure. But let's say Froch comes out of retirement and they make the fight for early 2016, how much do you think Golovkin weighs at the weigh in? If they took that fight, I'd assume GGG would be looking to go back down to MW immediately after. You think he comes in anywhere near 168? Ward said it's a struggle to make 168, and that once he moves up, it's too hard to come back down. So, GGG is very comfortable a MW and Ward is struggling to make 168. Ward basically wants to make the $$$ off the work GGG's put in, and he wants a massive weight advantage, too. Now, he and his fans are complaining about being forced to fight a guy his own size?

More box, less talk from Ward please.

Remember when it was "Nobody from 154-168 survives 12 rounds with Golovkin"

Then it was "anyone from 154-160"

Now its "We are only focusing on 160"
Clear marketing. Just all talk. No different than Rousey, White, Rogan claiming Rousey can beat any man, including Mayweather. Team Golovin just spreading lies they will not go through with. Funny how narrow his challenge became in a span of 1 year.

lol how about you get on your real account and then ill debate you.

Bottom line is GGG used Ward's name with no intention on fighting him. They started talking more **** once they knew he had problems with his promoter. When Ward finally got a promotional company with some big money to back him, they came calling to GGG with an offer and they turned it down in 5 minutes. No counter offer, no negotiation, nothing. End of discussion.

Your question is just as moronic as you are, because you have NO CONCEPT of time and changing circumstances.

Back when GGG was looking at 168 options, it was because he couldnt get his 160 unifications. At that time, Ward was nowhere to be found

Fast forward to now, and GGG has his unifications on tap, and is not interested in Ward or anyone else at 168 at the moment, especially a "next year sometime at 50-50" garbage offer.

This is probably beyond your level of comprehension, so I dont really expect you to respond with anything other than a "Got em" meme, or something similar. Thats about your level.......

lol Don't be so upset. You sound like Loeffler himself. GGG and his team made him look like a huge hypocrite and they were looking for easy pay days with garbage or over the hill fighters like Froch. Why not fight other title holders at 168? You really want me to believe they were going to fight Froch at 168 but not for his titles?
