English rappers to me are hard to understand. They're accent throws me away off to where I can't enjoy the lyrics that are not bad most of the times. Not because I'm obviously american but at least american rap can be understood clearly (except for southern rap with their accent too) but I have heard some pretty clear English rappers before and they were pretty ill.

Grime is sub-genre of hip-hop over here and it originated from garage music/dancehall/British hip-hop, thus the heavy instrumentals. The instrumentals have faster tempos and the lyrical content isn't as good as British hip-hop.
