UK is on 2.3 Trillion if you include the bank bail outs (Which the banks are paying off now that they are in profit), but 1.1 Trillion National debt if it's equivalent to the US 14 Trillion.

The US are doing right by their economy and their people by and large.

No big public spending cuts for them. Cutting jobs just means you have less people paying taxes. No increased income tax.
