  • Comments Thread For: Abner Mares-Victor Terrazas Could Head To a Purse Bid

The World Boxing Council could very well order a purse bid for the fight between WBC super bantamweight champion Abner Mares and his official challenger, Victor "Viking" Terrazas. Mares wants to unify with WBO champion Nonito Doniare, but Terrazas' promoter Fernando Beltran of Zanfer Promotions, is likely going to push the issue with his fighter securing a long awaited shot. Mares (25-0-1, 13KOs) won the title in April and made a vonuntary defense in November. Terrazas (36-2-1, 21KOs) won the WBC's silver title last year with a victory over Fernando Montiel and then he won a final WBC eliminator in April with Jose Palma.

Not a bad fight coming off the Moreno fight.

That's a pretty good fight if it gets made. I hope GBP and Zanfer promotions can make it happen and build a business relationship to make more fights in the future together.

Weren't people ****ting on Nonito when they talked about this being a possibility along with Christian Mijares like a year or two ago?

Can't wait. I've been wanting to see Terrazos in a big fight since he beat Montiel.
