Why are you bracketing Henry with Zidane? Henry did about as much as Florent Malouda.

Zidane went God mode and carried them to the final on his own, same way he carried that team to any success they'd had in the previous 8 years.

Total overstatement. Zidane had a good tournament and flicked the ball over Ronaldo's head n **** but it's become vastly romanticised over just because everyone thought he was shot and it was his last ever tournament.

Henry's goal eliminated the tournament favourites in the quarters, his skill won the penalty to take out Portugal in the semis and he was France's best player in the final. Enough said really.

How can you 'vastly romanticize' what was the complete midfield performance against Brazil?

Henry scored from 2 yards out, unmarked, from a cross put on a plate by Zidane.
