Bret Hitman Hart may have done well with his well established Catch Wrestling skills.

he even said himself that had MMA been around back then [and a money maker] the Harts wouldve been synonymous with Mixed Martial Arts instead of a Wrestling family.. and since Brets Dad won a gold medal in the Welterweight class from the Amateur Athletic Union for Amateur Wrestling i have NO REASON to doubt this at all, his father was catch wrestler and actually a good one too..but the money was in Wrestling obviously,

Interesting. Mark Callaway aka The Undertaker said the same thing in an interview. That's why he uses the gogoplata as one of his finishers and started wearing MMA gloves a few years back.
