  • Explain why Sergio Martinez vs floyd mayweather at 160 doesnt make sense?

It will create enough interest and hype to sell more than a guerrero fight. (Mayweather going for his so called 6th weight division)

Sergio is a pound for pound elite.

Legacy wise floyd needs this to revive whatever is left of a tainted/suspect/arguably "well manipulated" career

Not since the great Roberto Duran has it been achieved.

Skills not size wins fight -Thats from floyd jr himself

If Sergio gets beat floyd's career/legacy will be underwhelming considering how his fans hype him up to be.

He's considered one of the greatest at super-feather only Arguello and Chavez are better arguably. I agree though it will be a great fight but highly unlikely, Arguably being a natural welterweight mayweather does not seem comfortable at 154lb evidenced by his outings against De La Hoya and Cotto. I see Guerro and maybe Canelo or a wildcard in september next year.

Sergio is a 160lb fighter, Mayweather has no business above 147.

      That's about it for me.

There is a point where size plays bigger factor than skills alone.

LOL at having no business at 147. He shouldve fought marqueaz and hatton at 140 south then.

^This. Trashing a fighter for nor pursuing superhero antics is just pathetic haterism. I like Sergio far more than Floyd but I'll completely defend Floyd on not taking this at 160. It would be beyond stupid, much like this thread.

It makes sense if Mayweather wanted to try it. If he doesn't, it's no big deal. At 36, a move to Middleweight, given a steady drop in punch output, is a recipe for disaster.

He's creating his own unique legacy, you have to understand that the '0' is worth more than any amount of money or whatsoever.
