I think it's too premature to make a definitive judgement about Groves deteriorating under Paddy's tutelage. This was only his second camp. He's rebounding from two losses and most likely wanted to put on an emphatic showing for those in attendance. Judging by Paddys' instructions, Groves, wasn't adhering to the game-plan that was set out. He was extremely wild at times, his timing was non-existent for large parts of the fight and was open to the counter, especially as he started to fatigue as the rounds went on and as usual with him, his guard starts to drop. He needs to be more economical and learn to pace himself. Nonetheless, a decent performance which has made him the mandatory for the WBC belt.
I think in his next fight we'll be able to make a more accurate judgment on whether he's regressed under Paddy.
