How do you know? He was probably better 3-4 years ago, but how do you know he's better than the current champions when the last time he fought was a year and a half ago? The man has already retired. Ward was willing to go through the trouble of making 168, a weight class he obviously outgrew during his long layoff, to fight GGG after a 19 months layoff and GGG still turned down that chance.

The bar was set extremely low for GGG, I mean he had the chance of becoming the number 1 P4P fighter in world in 1 fight against a guys who's coming off a 19 months layoff and has trouble making 168, how much easier does it get? This was GGG's perfect chance and he blew it. Canelo, Cotto and the winner of Quillin Jacobs won't fight him, let him have a resume full of the Lemieuxs and the Andy Lees (Chavez Jr. leftover) of the world if that's what he and you guys want to, but don't ask other people for recognition if you're not daring to be great!

To "exactly" explain this, a guy who walks around at 170, when he trains he loses a lot of weight. mind you when a professional trains, they train two to three times a day, obviously during training they will carry much less weight than 170. That's why they face him at 164. They are not going to just lose 2lbs of weight during a two month training camp.

      • the "Little G" monicker is catchy lol

its better to discuss about these things after GGG actually wins the canelo/cotto winner and ward comes out with a clean bill of health.

Its not comparable to SRL beating a career great 160 guy in halger. Plus Floyd was a CW with a green Canelo. Never took risks while moving up.

In 30 years time as long as people know the reason GGG and Floyd never fought was all down to Floyd. We know GGG called Floyd out.

De La Hoya moved to 54 in 2001. Lol @ the rest of your post.

You're wrong. He already beat Abraham, DeGale swings wildly and Jack is just bad.
If you don't want to agree that Froch is better, that's fine. But I think it's not even an argument that Froch 10x more popular than any of those. From the risk/reward perspective, Froch is the #1 option at SMW, with everyone else a distant 4th.

            Wrong, wrong and wrong.
Ward wasn't on a p4p list when the fight was discussed due to inactivity. Any semblance of the fight being made was killed in June. You can check how long Ward has been on p4p list.

How much easier does what get? To beat a guy who outweighs him for no financial reward? Plus if he beat Ward at 168, he'd be avoided even more than he is now because all the others would know they have no chance against him. He'd be stuck fighting Fonfaras for 500k and dealing with Haymon trash at 168. It was a dumb move then, and Ward killed it when he asked for a fight next year because he needed tune ups.
