Let me first start off by apologizing for bringing up Duran with Ortiz, I know I can face a perm ban for it. But I wasn't old enough to live through The Duran, Hagler, Hearns, &Leonard timeframe. I've seen the fights but didn't live through the (past) reactions. So someone with knowledge of the time (era) did Duran get dissed like current fighters do/have for quitting? If so, what changed things? How did u feel fan or not at the time?

Did Roberto Duran face the same backlash as Victor Ortiz did for quitting mid fight?
