  • Is the Anthony Joshua Fight a Win Win for Wladimir Klitschko?

If Wladimir Klitschko defeats Joshua, that's another undefeated up and comer to his resume and the WBA and IBF titles back into his collection to make him a multi time heavyweight champion. If he loses then you chalk it up to him being 41 years old and clearly past his prime with a good paycheck in the process.

    Thoughts?

Wlads not fighting for the money ,its a win /win for him bc theres more fights out there beyond overly dangerous Joshua. I think he defeats all the other guys , Joshua is the question mark bc he is the only power puncher with solid all around skill sets and style to cause him to worry . Id like to see Wlad vs the other guys win or lose .

Wilder has just as much power and is just as dangerous, although Wilder was a former regular sparring partner of Klitschkos.

Its definitely a win-win for AJ.. If he wins then he has beat one of the best guys in the division now & a dominant champ.. If he loses he was still green & will still go on to fight Haye, Wilder, Fury, Parker..
Eddie isn't stupid to risk his cash cow without thinking of the pros & cons..

depends on how its perceived really, some people will say its cause hes old, which is fair enough, he is old. But ive always had reservations on how good wlad is cause of his opposition, you could definitely argue that losing to fury and joshua would mean that the two times hes fought highly rated unbeaten fighters of a similar size hes lost. Is pretty hard to tell whether its age or whether joshua and fury are just better than him so its something that will be debated.

I wouldn't say that. Anthony Joshua has developed a reputation as one of boxing's most dangerous fighters that many people already believe will go on and dominate the HW division. If AJ gets sparked in the first round or completely dominated that would hurt his image and reputation. He'd be considered an overrated fighter who was all about hype.

Wilder isnt as heavy handed or accurate or composed as Joshua,Wilder doesnt beat wlad unless wlad is nearer to 50,two total different skills sets and abilities to get that punch in. Wlad has pounded Wilder in sparring so that would give him a mental edge even in his 40's.

When you put it like that sure but you could also look at it like this If he loses he will have two losses on the trot both championship fights and it would put him in most peoples opinion as a past it fighter who should probably retire.

We both know that's not gonna happen.. AJ might lose but will hold his own until its lasts.. AJ is no all hype, he is the best prospect out there who also holds a title.. He needs to hone his skills which will come through competition & age..
