billy wilder goes the comedy route through the talents of walter matthau and jack lemmon and their undeniable chemistry working together...

this aint billy on the top of his game... the story is a little thin and the supporting cast is a little like stock characters, but the film redeems itself with the powerful chemistry of walter and jack... a prime walter matthau delivers a funny, snappy and ultimately a stupendous performance as a corrupt lawyer that concocts a scheme to dole out money from an insurance company at the expense of jack lemmon's character...

man... walter and jack should be the standard by which other comedic tandems are measured...
