Jones is arguably the greatest athlete who has ever stepped into the boxing ring. In his prime he would leap forward with a left hook, catch his opponent on the chin, and leap back out standing ten feet away while watching his oppent fall. his one round destruction of Montel Griffin in their rematch, his 12 round mastery of james toneyand his distance beating of John Ruiz to win the heavyweight world titleare his signiture fights - which prove his collection of spee, power and agility the likes of whioch we may never see again. On the other hand, there was the knock down at the hands of Lou De Valle, the victories over too old competitors Mike McCallum and Vinny Pazienza, and more recently the brutal knockouts by Antonio Traver, Glenn Johnston and danny green that migitate his sucess. How will RJJ be remembered? More likely as a extreme talent that was recectant to face the toughest challenges, and when he lost a step, a guy who could easily be beaten. But worse, after his performance against hopkins, he may be remembered as a guy who was always to scared to fight!

He will be remembered as arguably the most talented fighter ever, and a guy who mostly lived up to that billing.

To quote the song "Nah Mean" by Nas and Damien Marley (you can download the album in the hip hop forum)
"i'll open up ya face like my boy Roy in his prime" - Nas
Basically, he never got the credit he should have got, matchmaking and so fourth went against him. People claiming he ducked certain parties. Clearly not true, too good for his own good. Just fell hard off the mountain. Got gun-shy and slow after the weight change. Shame.
