  • Did the Morales fight proved how much chin you gain when you are not drained??

I believe that Morales was very drained in the last 2 fights against pacquiao and he went down lots of times and got koed early.... against maidana, he was long in the tooth, slow, and slow he got hit with everything from a good puncher, and he never seem very hurt a great diference from the chin he had against pacquiao the only difference from there to now is now he was very hydrated...

    What you guys think?

-- uh did bernard hopkins lose his chin against ODLH?
-- uh do you think fernando montiel could KO klitchko if klitchko got stranded on a deserted island and went down to 200 lbs.?

Well, Morales had a few easy fights and a big rest. Perhaps he needed it?

However, Pacquiao has speed which is a lot harder to take than just power.

Morales not getting into too much trouble was probably a combination of him being able to withstand more punishment due to the extra weight and Maidana not hitting him with much that he didn't see coming (even with his damaged eye)

Ask any fighter and they'll tell you cutting excessive weight leaves you weak and your chin vulnerable.

Miguel Diaz would use Roger Mayweather as an example.
Freddie Roach recently used Amir Khan as an example.

Its a fact, cutting excessive weight leaves your chin vulnerable.

I'm going to take a wild guess here but maybe Pacquiao hits a lot harder and faster than Maidana. That just might have something to do with it.

Heavy handed looping punches vs lighting fast accurate bombs.
