He would earn it by beating Porter who is the ring magazine number 4 world rated welterweight. Khan is rated 9th in the world so beating Khan is not as impressive as beating Porter. He could fight Mayweather in a unification welterweight fight right after a Porter win since Mayweather has no intent to defend his pretend 154 pound title.

Beating Porter and Khan would be a GREAT year for any fighter. Khan looks good at WW, so I put that into consideration.
