Former champion Yuriorkis Gamboa (22-0, 16KOs) advised BoxingScene.com that a proposed fight with WBO welterweight king Timothy Bradley (29-0, 12KOs) will not come off. The fight was being discussed for an HBO televised date of March 16th.
Gamboa, as reported, said there were issues with the agreed upon weight. The Olympic gold medal winner wasn't interested in moving up by 17-pounds, from super featherweight to welterweight. Bradley was not interested in dropping down to a catch-weight near the junior welterweight limit of 140.
