So much for Arum weeks ago saying that if HBO don't want to distribute Manny's PPV that voids his contract and Manny is a free agent allowing any other network to distribute this PPV. HBO came out saying that's not the case and they seem to be correct if Top Rank is now going to pay and distribute it themselves without network backing. Without HBO/Showtime or the rumored ESPN involvement this PPV will end up tanking and Arum alone will be taking the loss. Still no clue why they wouldn't just move on to another HBO PPV date or pick a better opponent SMH

HBO is wasting money on mismatches and don't want to spend money on good fights like Loma/Walters. Go to where the money is

they just should do long term deals point blank period. a 2-3 fight deal MAX imo would be best.

Arum is in a tough spot. He been beefing with the new head of HBO all year making threats. Meanwhile he is watching HBO dates and money go to Golden Boy, Main Events, K2, ect. He asked for more money for Lomachenko then Vargas and Salido got combined when Vargas and Salido did much higher ratings and each have bigger fanbases. If he goes to Showtime he will always be second fiddle to Haymon for dates and money. With PBC shrinking their pay that means more fighters going back to showtime. And he can't get on any cable/network channels because Haymon still has time buys on all of them. The big Ace for Top Rank was Manny. But Manny is getting old and coming off a long string of failed PPVs. If you remove the Floyd fight then it's been years with PPV disasters like Rios, Algeri, Bradley. No network is going to move mountains and shift everything around for Manny who demands a high fight purse but no longer delivers the PPVs to justify that pay.
