Who is the most succesfull journeyman ever?

I gotta give that title to Zab Judah. He became the united welterweight champion by beating Cory Spinks... Who is an okay boxer, but yeah, that's as good as Judah's victories get. He also got a gift decision against Matthysse, but I don't count that as a win. Otherwise, he's been beaten by every quality boxer he has fought. Definetely the most significant journeyman.

Glen Johnson is definetely also worth mentioning, a true legend. Knocking guys like Roy Jones Jr. and Allan Green is out is pretty big for a journeyman.

Darnell Boone is also pretty accomplished simply by the fact that he once KO'ed Stevenson, knocked Ward down and went the distance against some good boxers.

Zab Judah is not a journeyman, he's much much better and highly-touted than a traditionally-defined journeyman. You had the right idea with Darnell Boone. Glen Johnson was more or less a journeyman before he exploded with his huge 2004.

Zab was jr. welter champ first and then he went to welter, beat spinks and then gave Mayweather a go. He is not a journeyman.
