I have noticed that Americans are a bit more sensitive to this sort of thing than others. In the UK, no one would really think about stuff they that. It's only music, not a lifestyle.

I'm personally not a major fan of them. I liked their early stuff but they became somewhat bland.

Don't be ridiculous. Listening to coldplay doesn't automatically make you gay. For example you may be a girl.
