  • Comments Thread For: De La Hoya Denies Khan vs. Soto Clash For April 20

BoxingScene.com spoke to Golden Boy Promotions president Oscar de la Hoya to clarify
rumors of a possible junior welterweight fight between former champions Amir Khan and Humberto Soto in a Showtime televised fight on April 20th.

De la Hoya said that those rumors are false and that he feels Khan will want to face a high level opponent to regain the status he had before suffering back to back losses to Lamont Peterson and Danny Garcia.

Humberto is getting his name mentioned a lot now after Matthysse handled him. Too bad nobody would give him a shot when he was winning, other than Lucas.

Khan vs. Bradley???? I know Bradley probably thinks higher of himself but its a damn good matchup and he's not getting any other fights so **** make it happen.

He left Top Rank before the Matthysse fight. I thought he was with Golden Boy, but seeing as how Oscar just took a big ***** on him, apparently I was mistaken. If he is gunning for Danny G in the fall, then why not? Who else is he going to fight at 140? Matthysse? Ofcourse not.

Khan is not gonna fight anybody with a pulse until he gets the Garcia rematch. He will be to scared to fight someone who has a good shot at beating him.

              Agreed

Oscar is a chump for putting Soto down like that too, talking about him like hes not on Khans level.Amir Khan is nothing more than a Golden Boy show pony, they better take great care in choosing his next opponent if they dont want to see him lying on his back again.

Maybe theres a few lightweights who fancy a crack at Chin Khan

It's not as if Oscar is lying about Humberto! The guy is nothing short of a freaken let-down! Have you seen the eggs that he's laid against Joan Guzman, Giovanni Lorenzo II, Gamaliel Diaz II, David Diaz, and more recently, against Lucas Matthysse?! I, personally, am sick of him!!!
