      This.

What is this Deja Vu? I could swear we had one of these threads just a few weeks ago.

Hence why he doesn't belong as James Bond.

Craig is overrated. If we go by the criteria that made the Bond character a hit to begin with, he doesn't cut it. In fact the quality kept going down the longer it kept going from the 1990's on to the 2000's and up. You can't beat the old, over-the-top Sean Connery/Roger Moore movies, as the light PG 1960-70's 'Melodrama' setting made the James Bond character what it is.

You can't put that character into present world with the new technology and expect it to flourish. The character now is pretty much indistinguishable from the Bourne and Taken characters. It's like they almost forget to include that Bond is a chauvinist ladies man/charmer and not just another high skilled Government Agent. Pierce Brosnan was passable, particularly the first two in the 90's. His last one, not so much.

That's incorrect, Craig's Bond is actually more true to the source material; the Ian Fleming novels.

Dalton is the worst and Craig probably is second worst if not counting that guy who was James Bond only once. (in the 60's)

                  My list:

                  Connery
                  Craig
                  Lazenby
                  Moore
                  Dalton
                  Brosnan
I agree about Lazenby but I might move Dalton above Moore.

                  Connery
                  Craig
                  Lazenby
                  Dalton
                  Moore
                  Brosnan

Either way Connery was such a hard act to follow.

I'll admit I was skeptical when he took over as Bond in Casino Royale, but I agree I like him the best.

Before I was very biased towards Brosnan, mostly because the first Bond movie I ever saw was Goldeneye and it's actually still my favorite Bond movie.

But yeah Craig as Bond more accurately epitomizes a spy/assassin which is what Bond is supposed to be, but at the same time still possesses the same wit, charm and overall charisma that made the character popular, without being over the top cheesy and cartoonish.

Nah, that's incorrect. And you probably misunderstood what I said.
