the owner of a dog that does something like that should go to prison.

how would you feel if a neighbor's dog got your daughter by the achilles and started whipping her around like a rag doll?

it is the responsibility of a dog owner to make sure his dog is raised properly. they're dangerous if they are not.

The dog should probably be put down and/or taken away... but the owner going to jail for it?

      Nah.

yes. your dog shouldn't rush a f#cking child.

        Damn, thats kinda harsh.

I always thought the dog gets out down and the owner pays a hefty fine.

I'd assume if the owner maliciously sicked his dog on the kid, then yeah, that calls from some prison time.

If your dog randomly decides to snap one day then the dog gets put down. The owner doesn't go to jail. The owner didn't purposefully do it.
The owner is guilty through negligence. If the leash snaps then the owner needs a better ****ing lead.

If I leave a gun on some other kids lawn and the child picks it up and it blows his head off then that's still my fault not the gun.

Yeah its your fault you left a damn gun on someones lawn.

No its not necessarily your fault your leash snapped and your dog randomly attacked someone.
It is your obligation to keep your beast, your property, under control.

A dog is capable of attacking and killing people and an owner is responsible for preventing that potential (although remote) outcome and taking responsibility if they let it happen through accident or otherwise.

Don't forget in this video the dog goes up to that kids lawn, so it is a fair comparison.

That was amazing...I didn't think cats had that type of loyalty.

Was that a stray dog? cat vs stray dog, it would be strange if the cat does not run the stray dog away.

Well yeah, cats would scratch a mutt/stray dog's nose in half...dogs know this, they have to jump one cat to win.

Now domesticated dogs who were not trained to chill out against cats, that's a different story.

Luckily that cat came to the rescue, those bites look nasty. That kid will never forget that, he will be afraid of dogs for years to come.
