What I don't like about this is it kills the hype of a talented kid who if not for some seasoned 20 year pro who beat the sht outta him on his way up, would come into the pro game with a following already.

But at the same time if he smokes everyone and the seasoned pro.....

Leave the Olympics for the young kids. Don't be a glory hog.

So should countries like cuba be banned from the olympics??
You realise that's how cuba makes a name for itself in boxing....

Grown men with vast experience, trained like pros...
Who then go and beat up kids....

Olympic boxing is a ****ing joke already, let's not pretend otherwise.

I have an issue with letting pros fight amateurs in the Olympics. Boxing is not a game like basketball, it's a sport where people win by literally inflicting damage upon one another. If you let a 20 year pro fight a teenager who is still in the process of puberty you could get that kid seriously hurt.

Here's hoping that the people of the Philippines have got more decency than their esteemed representative and keep him the **** away from the amateur game.

LOL. **** did go crazy real fast post-Manny vs Floyd didn't it.

Although if Manny fights in the Olympics I'd bet its the most watched Olympic boxing in history & the Olympics won't kick boxing out of the Olympics like its talking about doing between every Olympics.

This is more or less happening now. There are teenagers fighting 28-33 year olds with a decade or more experience who are more or less paid amateurs in their own countries.

Amateur boxing hasn't been amateur boxing in a long time. Hell the term amateur hasn't meant non-paid in a long time. Plus the Olympics has pros in a bunch of sports these days. Its bound to happen sooner or later with boxing to or boxing will just get kicked out of the Olympics.

This. Theyve been fighting 30 year old cubans for the last 60 years, what difference does it make anyways
