  • The current status of PPV fights

The current status quo is a big headliner Floyd / Pac or big domestic even think UK etc.

With the current pricing of a PPV $40-$70 depending on country, what are your thoughts about the networks putting on a mid tier pay per view with say 3 very strong fights for $10-$20 in order to boost the purses.

For example, the card next week with Broner Maidana, would people pay $10 for this, similar to the way people pay $1 for a song through itunes but reluctant to pay for a full album?

I am thinking if a network can budget say $2-$3 million to put on a card on free to air, if they had selected $10 pay perviews could this double the budget and give us 3 competitive title fights?

This idea of three draws rather than one big headliner and a joke of a card (ie. top rank pac v rios) could build the less known names and recent title winners (guys like Porter etc).

Could this work and improve our sport?

No, the majority of cards should be free, we already pay for network

Yes, I would pay $10-$20 regularly to get the best fighting the best on a deep card

Impossible conflicts with current business model of showcase fights to build 20-0 records

No all boxing should be free, even if bouts are mismatched
