Originally posted by The Raw Dog View PostThe fact is HBO is owned by Time Warner, whom is in a very Nasty distribution dispute with CBS/Showtime. The situation has gotten to the point Time Warner Cable are ready to pull CBS from its subscribers, which has never been done. CBS/Showtime has gained substantial ground in the viewership marketshare on HBO, and like I stated in the previous post the Mayweather deal is in place to enhance Showtimes growth in viewership, so unlike so of the kids you refer to as posters on this site, us adults know that this boxing situation is a small piece of a larger ongoing sags between two media conglomerates.

CBS - worth 30 billion

Time Warner (TWX) 58.5 billion

I was watching David Letterman today and during the show and during every commercial, they were begging customers to call Time Warner so they wouldn't drop CBS. It was pathetic.
Fact is, CBS needs Time Warner, not the other way around.
And if Floyd-Canelo doesn't break even for the year. It'll be his last fight and Espinosa gets fired.

Also putting Paquiao on the cover of Time magazine couldn't even prevent their magazine from going out of print distribution. So there's a lot of layers to this situation.Last edited by The Raw Dog; 07-25-2013, 12:50 AM.
